Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis for therapeutic purposes.

Hypnosis is often described as a focused state of awareness and it is something we experience every day when we’re absorbed in a particular task. Have you ever driven a familiar route and realised you have no recollection of the journey or perhaps experienced the sensation of time speeding up when you’ve been deep in conversation or absorbed in a great novel? If so, you’ve been in that focused state of awareness. It is also described as “being in the zone” – you are completely relaxed yet fully alert.

Under the guidance of a qualified hypnotherapist, in this deeply relaxed state, your unconscious mind is able to tap into all of your incredible qualities and resources so that you can make positive and long-lasting changes without hindrance.

As it is a natural state of awareness, most people can be hypnotised. If there is any resistance to hypnosis in the session, however, then it is unlikely to work. It is, of course, essential that you feel at ease and have full confidence in your hypnotherapist.

In the initial consultation, I will take a full and detailed medical history. There are some conditions that mean hypnotherapy is not recommended and in that case, I will refer you to your GP or other qualified medical professional.

Although there is no right way to feel, many people experience a sense of calmness, tranquillity and a feeling of deep physical and mental relaxation. You may hear every word or none at all, you may have an altered sense of time or feel completely normal. You are aware and in control of your thoughts, your privacy and what you say or do at all times.

Hypnotherapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist. During your first consultation, a full history will be taken, we will discuss any issues that are troubling you and a suitable treatment plan will be established. I will explain how hypnotherapy works and will answer any questions you might have.

Together, on occasions, we will set some simple tasks to do between sessions in order to help implement the positive changes.

I aim to make each session as nurturing and as comfortable as possible regardless of the intensity of the issue you wish to work on.

You can relax in the chair, cover yourself with a blanket if you wish and feel safe and secure as you work towards making positive change.

As you close your eyes, I will use some calming and gentle guided visualisation before delivering the agreed therapy. You might hear every word I say or you might not. It really doesn’t matter as your unconscious mind will take on all the information it needs.

Each session can last up to 90 minutes.

You are aware and in control of your thoughts, your privacy and what you say or do at all times.

There is very rarely any need for any physical contact in hypnotherapy. If a hypnotherapist was to use a technique that involved touching the client’s hands, permission would always be sought and an explanation provided.

EFT Practitioner – Emotional Freedom Technique helps to calm the mind and body, release troubling emotions and create more positive neural pathways by tapping on various acupressure points around the face.

Advanced BLAST Technique® Practitioner – Using precise bi-lateral movements with a light pen and specific suggestions to the client, the BLAST Technique® helps reprocess a traumatic event so the client understands and remembers what happened but it no longer has any physical or emotional response.

NLP Practitioner – Neuro Linguistic Programming utilises the power of our thoughts to create our reality, influence our emotions and determine our actions.

Life Coach –  Life coaching is an empowering talking therapy that helps clients make, meet and exceed goals in both their personal and professional lives.

When conducted by a qualified professional, hypnosis is considered a safe, complementary and alternative form of therapy.

I have a Certificate and Diploma in Integrated Clinical Hypnotherapy and am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Council and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

Yes. An online hypnotherapy session works just as well as a face-to-face session. Hypnotherapy doesn’t require the therapist to be in the same room. As long as you can see and hear, you will experience all the incredible benefits that hypnotherapy has to offer. An online session also has the added advantage of flexibility both in terms of time and location and many people enjoy the privacy, comfort and security of their own, familiar surroundings.

My Your Weight in Mind programme is £450 all inclusive.

No. As the programme works quickly and produces fast results, a payment plan isn’t appropriate.

I work online only.

The programme consists of 4 one-to-one sessions plus an extra (5th) session for free to make sure you have everything you need.
